We have recently opened an antenatal clinic in Macenta, Guinea. Our plan is to have a Mobile Midwife Service to be linked with our Safe Transport Service. Also plans for a Birthing Clinic continue
Why We Do It
To reduce maternal mortality
Global Health Observatory statics show that maternal and neonatal mortality in many places are still devastatingly high, with many mothers and their babies dying from lack of access to quality pregnancy care.
Guinea: Maternal deaths; 1 in every 147 labors
Australia: Maternal deaths; 1 in every 16,666 labors
To reduce neonatal mortality
Guinea: Neonatal deaths; 1 in every 42 births
Australia: Neonatal deaths; 1 in every 455 births
To be loving to people
The motivation behind the development of this project is based on the Christian faith, which is to love people. The Christian faith of any staff may be shared with a mother and family but only if they express interest in knowing more about it. This is to ensure people of all races and religions feel comfortable when using Safe Birthing Worldwide services.
